Provides nursing care according to the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing and evaluating. Implements appropriate nursing care interventions. Administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures. Deliver care based on defined standards of patient care and nursing evidence-based practice.
Certifications:
Experienced BSN and ADN candidates: KY RN license required. Current AHA certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Specific clinical areas may require additional experience or certificates such as ACLS, PALS or others as identified.
BSN new graduates: KY RN provisional license and/or KY RN license required. Current AHA certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). All new BSN graduates will participate in the Nurse Residency program and successfully complete all activities as required.
Education:
BSN preferred. A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is preferred. All new-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three years of hire.
Experience:
Candidates with a BSN: minimum one year of hospital patient care experience preferred. Will consider BSN new graduates depending on unit specific needs
Candidates with an ADN: Experienced RNs and new graduates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 (one) year of hire and be completed within 3 (three) years of hire.
