Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the UofL Health intranet and internal communication tools. Supports content creation. Helps UofL Health employees and providers stay informed and connected to the organization. Supports the internal communications initiatives of UofL Health. Supports the organization’s culture through consistent and concise communications strategies that sustain UofL Health’s mission.

 

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the director of communications, this position will:

 

Account Specialist:

• Manage the creation and implementation of internal communications plans for their assigned internal department partners.
• Represent the department in key strategy meetings with their assigned departments.
• Maintain relationships with key internal contacts to identify opportunities on an ongoing basis.

 

Communications Development:
• Edit, write, design and create content for multiple communications channels.
• Develop ideas and write content that pertains to UofL Health employees for numerous communications tools (emails, executive or department specific communications, intranet, etc.).
• Ensure strategic, integrated internal communications plans optimize our differentiator as an academic health care system to reflect the organization’s strategic vision.
• Oversee internal communications collateral for various departments and facilities.
• Create materials that support the positive work being done throughout the organization.
• Proofread and edit content using the UofL Health Style Guide.
• Works with communications director to develop content strategy for internal channels.
• Assist in the creation of messaging by senior leaders.

 

Intranet:
• Edit, write, design and create content for employee intranet.
• Lead training of team member(s) who manage their intranet page(s).

 

Newsletter Development
• Design of team member newsletters.
• Review newsletter analytics to further develop content and reader engagement.

 

Employee Engagement Champion:
• Partner with other departments to be a champion of employee engagement initiatives with the goal of cultivating team member understanding of our mission, vision and values.

 

Audit, Analytics and Surveys:
• Audit internal messaging channels through creation and execution of surveys and other data collection methods.
• Assist in analytics of the intranet and employee newsletters.
• Maintain relationships with key internal contacts to identify opportunities on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing or equivalent experience; (required)

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in a communications role (required)
  • Health care experience (preferred)
  • Proven success in implementation of communication initatives
