The Cardiac Interventional Technologist is Responsible for ensuring top quality diagnostic images with minimal Patient, Physician, and Staff radiation exposure.
Turns in monthly dosimetry badges so readings can be reported, checked and posted monthly by the Radiation Safety Officer.
Responsible for radiation safety teaching to include the Cardiovascular Laboratory
Staff and Physicians in basic radiation protection and to work with the Radiation Physicist and the State Bureau of Radiation Health in testing radiation equipment as demonstrated by attendance records and State Inspection reports.
Provides top quality diagnostic images for physician review.Prepares the patient for pre and post catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
Education / Licensure (required):
Graduate of an accredited college for a Radiologic Technologist.
Certification by the KY Bureau of Rad Health and American Registry of Radiological Technologist, CPR certification.
Two years’ experience as a general Radiologic Technologist or one year experience as Vascular Tech. Previous Cardiac Cath Lab experience preferred.
