The RN Shift Coordinator in the Operating Room will provide support and will work collaboratively with the Clinical Manager and the Director.  The Shift Coordinator will hold staff accountable on his/her shift and provide feedback to Clinical Manager.  The Shift Coordinator is an extension of the Clinical Manager and is empowered to address issues and concerns on his/her respective shift.  This staff member will work 1/3^rd of her/his shifts in staffing. 

1. Assist with staffing and scheduling.
2. Improve patient experience by rounding on patients and providing service recovery on her/his shift.
3. Ensure compliance with metrics.
4. Acts as a resource for staff.
5. Participates in the staff interview process and retention of staff.
6. Provides feedback for and assists with the writing and delivering of performance reviews.
7. Provides coaching and counseling as appropriate.
8. On-call for scheduled weekends to work.
9. Actively participates on unit committees and other unit meetings

Required Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or University
• Previous Charge Nurse or Leadership experience
• Minimum 3 years RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

• National certification in specialty or nursing administration is preferred.
• ICU Experience
