Responsibilities

Shifts: 10 hour shifts with a Rotating Schedule

 

The Interventional Technologist scrubs in and assists the physician in the interventional radiology procedure. The IR Technologist circulates within the procedure room and procures all equipment needed for procedures. The IR Technologist maintains a high degree of accuracy and awareness of all radiation and patient safety issues involved with any invasive procedure. The IR Technologist will position patients, select exposure parameters, contrast injectors according to protocols specific to both patient and examination. The IR Technologist demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, interventional supplies, and equipment.

 

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required):
• Graduate of approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Registered with ARRT required.
• KY Radiation Operator’s certification required
• BLS required
• IR Registry required within 2 years of employment

 

Experience (preferred):
• Prefer 2 years of recent experience as a general radiographer.
