We are hiring for Nurse Manager for the 8 East Complex Medical/Trauma Unit at UofL Hospital

Location: 530 South Jackson Street, Louisville, KY 40202

Shift: Day Shift, 5 days/week

 

About Us

 

8-East is a 26-bed complex medical/trauma unit. Clinicians on this unit care for a variety of disease processes involving the following systems: Neurological, Respiratory, Endocrine, Cardiac, Immune/Infectious Disease, and Renal. This unit is comprised of private and semi-private patient rooms.

 

UofL Hospital, a 404-bed academic teaching and research hospital, is at the heart of the Louisville Metro area in downtown Louisville. UofL Hospital offers a second-to-none cancer center, world-renowned trauma team and a uniquely streamlined, nationally accredited stroke center—the latest innovations in a history of world-class care. UofL Hospital is the only adult Level I Trauma Center in the region, which includes the only dedicated burn center in Kentucky.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Manager will have responsibility for the overall operations of the nursing unit to include financial performance, service quality, clinical outcomes, quality improvement, employee satisfaction, and patient satisfaction. The clinical manager of the nursing department will have direct reporting responsibility to a designated nursing director.

 

The Unit of focus:

 

  • 8 East Complex Medical/Trauma unit, in the area’s only level 1 trauma center

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
  • 5+ years of experience in an acute care setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Prior experience in nursing leadership roles in the hospital setting

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Professional certification in either a leadership or clinical specialty area (If certification not present on hire, it is to be obtained within 3 years of hire into position.)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
