We are Hiring at UofL Hospital’s 6 South Medical Oncology unit 

Location: 530 South Jackson Street, Louisville, KY 40202

Shift Options: Full Time, 7p-7a 

 

About Us

 

6 South is a 16 bed comprehensive medical oncology unit that works in conjunction with the Brown Cancer Center to utilize chemotherapy, innovative radiation techniques, Immunotherapy, and cutting edge research trials. This private bed unit utilizes adjunct holistic therapies to treat the whole person with the goal of providing the highest quality patient care and outcomes.

 

UofL Hospital, a 404-bed academic teaching and research hospital, is at the heart of the Louisville Metro area in downtown Louisville. UofL Hospital offers a second-to-none cancer center, world-renowned trauma team and a uniquely streamlined, nationally accredited stroke center—the latest innovations in a history of world-class care. Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active Kentucky registered nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • All new graduate RNs will participate in the nurse residency program and successfully complete all activities as required.
  • All new-hire Associate degree registered nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one (1) year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three (3) years of hire.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • One (1) year of patient care experience in specialty area
