Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing all Organizational Development, Engagement and Inclusion Team initiatives related to Employee Experience and Retention. This is a strategic role meant to implement goals set by senior leaders in relation to DEI strategy and employee  experience, engagement, and retention strategy. This role will be essential to shaping how initiatives come to life as you work with internal and external stakeholders to influence system-wide strategy that results in improved employee experience and retention.


  • Oversee all employee experience and retention initiatives including, but not limited to the development of strategy and policy,  and implementation using data-driven decision making, committee management for system-wide participation, and focused learning opportunities
  • Lead Just Culture implementation throughout the UofL Health system in collaboration with the Quality team
  • Direct the Press Ganey Employee Engagement survey through distribution and using the results to lead action planning discussions that inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders to develop and action an Employee Retention Strategy that includes the review of current policies and practices.
  • Develop education opportunities for leaders that is focused on employee experience, engagement and retention
  • Develops the strategy for career pathways and career ladders programs in collaboration with system leaders and Workforce Development Program Manager
  • Work cross-functionally within the Organizational Development, Engagement and Inclusion Team, with the Human Resources Team, and with leaders and team members system-wide
  • Develop and nurture partnerships internally and externally to enhance the work of the team
  • Oversee the development of a DEI strategy including the creation of a DEI policy that advances the organization’s priorities
  • Supports the AVP in the development and management of the Downtown Campus and System-wide diversity committees. Leads the implementation of actions agreed on by the Diversity committee.
  • Manages and continuously improves the Academy for Inclusive Excellence, a two-day intensive diversity, equity, and inclusion training for UofL Health leaders with the goal of empowering participants to bring DEI strategy to their teams, and action changes throughout the organization
  • Continuously improves the International Professionals experience program in collaboration with facility leaders, and internal and external recruiters



  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (required)
  • Master’s Degree in related field (preferred)


  • 5 years or more experience using proven methods to enhance employee engagement and mitigate employee turnover.
