Overview

The EHR Specialist is responsible for ensuring that clinical team members receive orientation, supervision, and continuous education necessary in documenting patient care in an EHR.  Will work closely with the EHR team (analysts) to identify areas of additional education needs as they are directly related to improper clinical workflows.  The employee will be essential in assisting with implementing EHR workflows to be proactive the documentation of patient care needs to maintain compliant and legal medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between ULP Medical Group clinics, management team, EHR (analysts) team during the conversion, implementation, and ongoing execution of the EHR.
  • Works with clinical staff on adoption and optimization of EHR.
  • Communicates and troubleshoots issues and concerns in a timely manner to staff, managers and EHR team.
  • Provide one-on-one training and ongoing system optimization training.
  • Responsible for identifying and communicating training material needs.
  • Serves as a role model to clinical staff in the delivery of excellent care of patients.
  • Maintains and integrates current evidence-based knowledge into educational programming.
  • Additional tasks/responsibilities as defined.
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • Certified Medical Assistant required

Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience with computer information systems including an EMR.
  • Proficient with analytic reporting tools and concepts
  • Proficient in performance improvement processes and tools
  • Microsoft office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
