Overview

The RN Supervisor is responsible for training and supervision of clinical nursing and laboratory staff. This position will assist each department with patient flow and nursing compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinics with monthly vaccine information updates
  • Order vaccines both private and VCF to support patient volume
  • Create Educational Support for clinical team leads as well as create education for existing protocols
  • Create a training outline and competency check off for nursing and laboratory staff
  • Provide timekeeping duties to clinical laboratory and nursing team members, including approval of PTO requests, creating monthly schedules, and managing staffing changes
  • Monitor CEUs for staff where appropriate
  • Monitor team member certifications and immunizations
  • Supply management to ensure clinics have necessary clinical nursing and laboratory items
  • Monitor daily patient flow to ensure patients are efficiently and effectively moving through the clinics
  • Provide process improvement suggestions to ensure patients are flowing through clinics in the most appropriate manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited University
  • BSN preferred, RN required
  • Must have current Kentucky State nursing License
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a nursing management role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Medical Software Knowledge-use of EHR
  • Medical Knowledge- knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat illness, injuries, and diseases
  • Customer Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Education and Training-Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction of individuals
  • Communication- written, spoken, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Problem Sensitivity- the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
  • Personnel Management- ability to listen, direct, and manage performance of other individuals
  • HIPPA, OSHA, and other State and Federal regulations

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Clinical office environment- office, patient clinical areas, sitting, walking, and lifting
