Job Summary
A Lactation Consultant in this institution will help breastfeeding mothers in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Lactation Consultant will also educate the mother and staff regarding updated lactation practices. The Lactation Consultant will maintain competency and application of the scientific knowledge necessary to meet patient needs. The Lactation Consultant demonstrates, through organizational skills, the ability to provide ease in flow of work. The Lactation Consultant is knowledgeable and supportive of the hospital, department, and nursing unit philosophies.
The areas of focus:
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of patient care experience in the OB nursery complex. Must be knowledgeable in current standards for lactation management and have recent experience working with mothers and infants who are breastfeeding.
