JOB SUMMARY

The  Electrophysiology  Coordinator is an individual who assists with remote monitoring enrollment, devise assistance and support, and scheduling procedures. Direct patient interaction is provided to patients of all ages.

 

Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.

  • Coordinate remote monitoring enrollment, compliance, and billing for all departmental sites. 
  • Coordinate device monitoring across disciplines, with particular emphasis on integration with the clinical heart failure service. 
  • Assist and support with device interrogation where necessary in the outpatient setting. 
  • Will be a liaison between patients with implantable or wearable electronic devices and providers, facilitating expeditious clinical care and follow up as necessary. 
  • Obtain appropriate pre-certification and pre-authorizations.
  • Schedule In Office and Out Patient Procedures
  • Discuss patient instructions for procedures with patient so patient has clear understanding of what is expected.
  • Calls patients to schedule procedures and give instructions over phone with follow-up letter with instructions.
  • Use Allscripts, Centricity Business, online paging systems. Retrieve information from other hospital systems.
  • Holds in confidence all matters concerning patients according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Exhibits friendly and helpful behavior. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a multi-specialty clinic.
  • Must have completed one of three certifications from an agency accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute:
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Assessment-Based Recognition In Order Entry
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
  • Registered Medical Assistant
