UofL Health – Louisville, Inc. d/b/a UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital hereby gives notice to all employees of the filing of an Application for Permanent Alien Labor Certification pursuant to 20 C.F.R. Section 656.10, for the following:

 

Job Title:
Medical Technologist II Rate of Pay:
$65,332.80 to $101,275.20 per year. The employer will pay, or exceed the prevailing wage, as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field, plus 2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or related occupation. Certification, as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist, by an accredited agency.


Job Description:
Assist with quality audits in accordance with accrediting agencies; assist department supervisor & lead technologists in writing policies/procedures, performing test validations, reviewing QC, evaluating new technology & biannual review of procedure manuals; observe routine patient tests performance, including, patient identification & preparation; specimen collection, handling, processing & testing; monitor the recording & reporting of test results, including, reporting critical results; review intermediate test results or worksheets, quality control records, proficiency testing results, & preventive maintenance records; observe performance of instrument maintenance & function checks; assess test performance through testing previously analyzed specimens, internal blind testing samples or external proficiency testing samples; evaluate problem-solving skills; perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of test results; analyze patient samples according to approved standards of testing; maintain equipment to ensure accurate, consistent results in the performance of tests; provide teaching & education to clinical laboratory scientist students & other laboratory or hospital personnel; collect & process laboratory specimens; follow standards of safety dictated by the laboratory, the hospital & regulatory agencies; participate in continuing education programs. Report to Laboratory leadership.
