Overview

The UofL Health Marketing and Communications Department is seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated intern interested in Public Relations. Working under the direction of Director of Public Relations the intern will have opportunities to assist in developing public relations campaigns, storytelling, video production, copy writing, special events and a variety of tasks throughout the entire department. The internship will have an emphasis on all aspects of writing and video production, creating media releases, patient success stories, participating in strategy meetings, participate in media events, writing blogs, copy, media monitoring and other PR related duties.
The department runs as the in-house advertising agency for UofL Health. The intern will have a clear understanding of the fundamental aspects of working in a creative ad agency or marketing department. For more information visit UofLHealth.org.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop ideas for marketing opportunities and generating new content for media releases, patient success stories, communications, brochures, blogs, social media, and more.
• Other duties as assigned according to interests and talent.
• In addition to the focus in Public Relations, this intern will gain experience in all elements of marketing and communications efforts, including website, social media, internal communications, video production, strategic communications, and marketing.

Qualifications

• Working toward a degree or a recent graduate in English, Communications, or Marketing.
• Professional, polished and a team player.
• Ability to focus on the small details in a large project.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Organized
• Good with time management and won’t miss a deadline.
