Peace Hospital, part of UofL Health, is a private, non-profit behavioral health hospital. One of the largest behavioral health facilities in the nation, Peace Hospital is known for providing care for children, adolescents, adults and senior adults, age 55 and older.
It’s Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of youth inpatient behavioral health services in the country. The hospital was the nation’s first behavioral health care center to open a retail pharmacist operated, long-acting injection clinic. The clinic was established to help people adhere to prescribed medications for behavioral health conditions, such as substance use and psychotic disorders.

Job Summary
This position is responsible and accountable for total units operations on a 24-hour basis to include fiscal management, staff development, and resource management with the ultimate goal of achieving quality and safe patient care.
Supervises activity of all departments, professional and technical staff. Serves as the highest ranking administrative representative in the hospital during evening and night shifts during weekdays and all shifts on weekends and holidays.
The area of focus
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
· BSN required; MSN preferred.
· RN currently licensed in Kentucky. Current in CPR, ACLS, and/or BCLS. Annual competencies will be maintained per year in Critical Care or Med-Surgical area. A working knowledge of hospital operations and supervision.
Experience (required and preferred):
Internal Candidates: Minimum four (4) years clinical nursing required, including minimum two years in critical care. Two to three years of management experience preferred with a knowledge of overall hospital operations. Must possess good judgment. Possess basic communication skills and good knowledge of nursing theory, practice and organizational behavior. Must follow proper lines of authority and be able to listen, plan and problem solve. Must show initiative and accept constructive criticism. Must be capable of evaluating, planning and decision making in order to solve patient related issues and administrative policy.
External Candidates: Minimum five (5) years clinical nursing required, including minimum two years in critical care.
