Department: Emergency Preparedness

 

Overview

The intern will support the UofL Health Emergency Preparedness team on ongoing projects and initiatives including education and training exercises for the hospital system response to possible disasters throughout the system and community.   

The intern will assist in coordination of emergency preparedness training schedules, coordination of use and routine testing of disaster-related equipment, and monitoring of global events to identify potential threats or opportunities and how they may impact the UofL Health system.

This internship will last 12-15 weeks.

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned tasks and work related to the Emergency Preparedness
  • Maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholders via email, phone and in-person meetings.
  • Contributes to team initiatives and goals.
  • Assists with additional projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently working on completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in healthcare administration, Safety, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, or related field from an accredited school (required)
  • Familiarity with healthcare administration or clinical environments (preferred)
  • Experience in emergency preparedness or emergency management (strongly preferred)
