We are hiring RNs for UofL Health's Hemophilia Treatment Center!
Location: Medical Center Northeast, Louisville KY 40245
Hours: First Shift
This position is for an individual licensed as a registered nurse with training to provide holistic nursing care to individuals living with bleeding disorders. Patients will be a lifespan approach.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct patient care for individuals with bleeding disorders across the lifespan.
2. Perform phlebotomy and medication administration for bleeding disorders.
3. Contribute to the work of the ATHN database and research collaborations.
4. Support potential clinical trials for bleeding disorder patients.
5. Conduct effective and timely follow up for patients after procedures or bleeding events.
6. Disseminate hemostasis letters and communicate with agencies and hospitals providing direct services to bleeding disorder patients.
7. Support the 340B administrator by providing necessary information for program oversight and management.
8. Conduct nursing quality improvement initiatives.
9. Documentation in electronic records systems.
10. Work closely with Bleeding Disorders Foundation.
11. Provide community education and training (schools, workplace) as needed for bleeding disorders.
12. Participate in summer camp program(s) for youth with bleeding disorders.
13. Participate in 1-2 professional development opportunities each year.
Core Competencies:
1.Effective communication – both written and oral
2.Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
3.Solid knowledge of, or willing to learn about, the HTC 340B program.
4.Solid organizational skills including planning, processing, and evaluating.
5.Able to follow direction, then work independently.
