JOB SUMMARY

Staff member will provide patient care to patients, in an efficient manner, in an effort to provide quality care. This position will facilitate an exceptional patient care experience by providing direct care, and performing evaluations.

Responsibilities

  1. Clinical Duties:
    • Conduct In-depth Evaluations: Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations encompassing diagnostic interviews to understand the patient's mental health history and current symptoms. Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate psychological, social, and biological factors contributing to the patient's mental health status.
    • Bio-psychosocial Approach: Apply a bio-psychosocial model to gather a holistic view of the patient’s condition, considering biological, psychological, and socio-environmental factors that might affect mental health.
    • Risk Assessment: Assess risks associated with mental health conditions, such as potential for self-harm or harm to others and determine the necessary precautions or interventions to address these risks.
    • Inclusive Treatment Planning: Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and expertise, actively involving patients in the planning process to ensure that their preferences, values, and needs are addressed. This collaborative approach enhances patient engagement and satisfaction with the treatment process.
    • Multidisciplinary Team Coordination: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, other mental health professionals, and support staff, to create comprehensive, integrated care plans that reflect both professional recommendations and patient input.
    • Patient Education and Empowerment: Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and the expected outcomes of various interventions. Empower them to make informed decisions by providing clear, accessible information and supporting their autonomy throughout the treatment process.
    • Billable Hours and Productivity Targets: Maintain a target level of billable hours as specified by departmental goals to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  2. Documentation and Compliance:
    • Accurate Documentation: Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and therapy sessions in accordance with state regulations, departmental standards, and the requirements of relevant accreditation bodies. This includes ensuring that all documentation is complete, timely, and accurate, facilitating quality care and continuity across services.
    • Accreditation Standards: Adhere strictly to the documentation standards set by accrediting organizations relevant to our practice, such as the Joint Commission, CARF International (The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities), or other applicable bodies. This adherence is crucial for maintaining our facility’s accreditation status and ensuring high standards of care.
    • Audits and Reviews: Participate in regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with all documentation requirements. Provide necessary documentation during accreditation reviews and actively engage in ongoing training to stay updated on new accreditation standards and documentation practices.
    • Compliance: Ensure complete compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory standards and stay updated with changes in professional practice and ethical guidelines.
  3. Education and Supervision:
    • Ongoing Professional Development: Commit to continual personal and professional development by participating in advanced training sessions, workshops, and peer review processes to ensure adherence to the highest standards of clinical practice and remain abreast of emerging trends in social work and mental health care.
    • Selective Engagement in Mentorship: Participate in the clinical education and training of students, residents, and newly licensed LCSWs, providing mentorship and guidance. This responsibility is designated to certain roles within the organization and may not be applicable to all positions. Applicants will be informed if this aspect of the job pertains to the specific role they are applying for, based on departmental needs and individual qualifications.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)

Experience:

  • Direct clinical experience in mental health settings, with substantial knowledge in treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric and mental health conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in high-pressure and complex situations.

Licensure:

  • Licensed social worker in the state of Kentucky
