Overview

The Clinical Nurse Manager will have responsibility for the overall operations of the nursing unit to include financial performance, service quality, clinical outcomes, quality improvement, employee satisfaction, and patient satisfaction. The Clinical Manager of the Nursing Department will have direct reporting responsibility to a designated Nursing Director.

Proposes, fosters, and implements new techniques, programs, systems, and processes that supports the organization’s mission, vision and goals.
Is an early adopter of new initiatives; willingly volunteers for taskforces, projects, and other activities that support the unit and hospital.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
Master’s Degree in a Nursing Specialty or Nursing Administration strongly preferred. Other Master’s degrees, such as business or healthcare administration will be considered.

 

EXPERIENCE:
Internal Candidates: At least four (4) years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center. Prior management experience a plus.
External candidates: At least five (5) years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably an academic medical center. Prior management experience a plus.

 

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION:
Kentucky RN License required. Professional certification in either a leadership or clinical specialty area strongly recommended. . If certification not present on hire, it is to be obtained within 3 years of hire into position.
