UofL Hospital's Emergency Department is a regional Level 1 Trauma Center and is the gateway for many of these patients.  We care for over 70,000 patients per year with a focus on trauma, burn, neuro, high risk obstetrics, psychiatric, and pulmonary patients as well as caring for the student athletes of the University of Louisville. Our ED is a 46 bed ED with a 10 bed Admission unit with an ability to care for any level of acuity that crosses our threshold. Building a new 24 bed Observation unit manned by our Emergency Department as part of the new West Tower addition project. Schedule to open in January 2025.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
  • Associates’s degree from accredited college or University

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or University
