organ failure with live-saving procedures like the implantation of ventricular assist devices (VAD) and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) as well as organ transplantation.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

 

The Transporter will provide safe, reliable, and courteous transportation of patients throughout the medical complex.  The employee will be trained and must demonstrate competency in moving of patients, including neonatal, pediatric (birth - 11 years), adolescents (12 - 17 years), adults (18 - 65 years), and geriatric (66 years and older). The Transporter is knowledgeable of department/hospital policies and procedures.  Accepts responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education.  Must display positive attitude and maintain good working relationship with all internal and external customers.

 

Some Primary Responsibilities

  • Transports patients throughout medical complex via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed.
  • Limited clerical duties - answering phones/voice mail, documentation on office log, runslips, and various sign-out logs, and reports as needed.
  • Proper handling of medical equipment including: IV pumps/poles, Oxygen tanks, PCA pumps, Chest tubes, Catheters, Traction.
  • Presents a professional, congenial attitude to all internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Good guest relation skills required.
  • Ability to walk long distances, operate a wheelchair and carry items for our patients.
