Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, processes, tracks, documents and coordinates patient transfers and direct admissions into UofL Health Hospitals.
  • Obtains appropriate medical and demographic information from sending provider.
  • Coordinates communication between referring physicians, and the accepting physician
  • Ensures compliance with current EMTALA and Cobra guidelines.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with physicians and peers in order to provide excellent patient experience.
  • Assigns appropriate bed placement for patients in ED. PACU, clincs and outlying facilities.
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedurs and standards of conduct.
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Associate degree from accredited college or University
  • Two years of nursing experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or University
  • Five years of nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
