The Athletic Trainer Coordinator functions in four primary roles:

In addition, the Athletic Trainer coordinator will be the lead, and point-person for community-based events in addition to supporting the needs determined by the Manager of Athletic Training, Community Outreach and Clinical Integration, to support UofL Health’s position as official healthcare provider for University of Louisville Athletics, and partnerships with local high schools.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or related field from an accredited college/university (preferred). Master’s degree in athletic training or related field from an accredited college/university (required). Residency (preferred)
Required Experience: Varies based on practice setting and programmatic needs of the facility. Experience working with D-1 athletics/professional athletic programs. Experience working with community members. General knowledge of the healthcare system, clinical procedures, and previous interaction with physicians
Licensure: Nationally certified by the National Board of Certification. Licensed or eligible in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or State of Indiana, as appropriate to the facility.
Skills: Clinical skills required vary based on practice setting and programmatic needs of the facility. Experience as an athletic trainer on the sideline, and within the physician/clinical practice are strongly preferred. Experience in a high school or collegiate environment preferred. Effective time management. Effective oral and written communication skills.
