Responsibilities

Job Summary

 

Under the direct supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner, the endoscopy tech will assist during GI procedures. This role provides support for the GI team with room set up, tear down, scope reprocessing, sterilizing, packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, specimen collection, and assisting doctors and nursing staff as directed. The tech will provide direct patient care during and after procedures. An endoscopy tech will maintain sterile field as applicable and will float out and assist with patient care in pre-op and PACU areas as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in cleaning, packaging, and processing of sterile supplies and demonstrated knowledge of infection control

  • One (1) year of experience working in an operating room or endoscopy suite
