Provide outpatient services (evaluation, interventions, and planning) to patients/clients who have impairments in voice and swallowing disorders at UofL Health’s premier Louisville Center for Voice Care (LCVC).  **Under the supervision of a Board Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team to provide excellent Voice diagnostic and treatment to LCVC patients
  • Utilize equipment (Stroboscopy, PAS, Computerized Speech Lab, and other various Acoustic equipment necessary in treatment of voice and airway patients
  • Perform documentation per policy and procedures (evaluation, progress notes, discharge summary, and multi-disciplinary education and treatment plan forms)
  • Provide therapeutic treatment through 1:1 or group patient visits

Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist participates in clinical supervision/instruction of SLP students and fellows in training.

 

  • Attends continuing education, departmental meetings, and in-service programs
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct

Qualifications

Education:

  • MA/MS SLP (required)

**Not required for Fellow

Licensure:

  • Kentucky State Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (required)

**Not required for Fellow

Certification:

  • CRP, BLS though the American Heart Association (preferred)

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence ( CCC-SLP)

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities critical to this role:

  • Use of Pentax Stroboscopy equipment
  • Use of PAS system and Visi Pitch
  • Competency in Diagnosis and Treatment of voice disorders including professional voice, upper airway,  chronic cough and gender affirming care
  • Excellent Communication skills with Patient, Peers, and Clinic staff including laryngologists and otolaryngologists
