Job Responsibilites
Must demonstrate working knowledge of the PBX system and equipment. Understanding of all Switchview-Attendant Pro functions; Computer efficient; Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel; Types 25 wpm; Understands functions of GroupWise email system, SMS for patient information and Simplex computer system for fire alarms; Operates computerized equipment; Answers and routes calls in a polite, but efficient manner; Represents the University of Louisville Hospital to its external and internal customers in a positive and professional manner; Excellent organizational, written, verbal and customer service skills; Must place patient care in the highest regard and be courteous at all times; Must be detail oriented and accurate; Responsible with confidential information; Understanding of Medical Terminology; Ability to use good judgement in solving departmental issues; Ability to operate TDD hearing impaired phone and Cyraphone for language translation; Responds to emergency alarms; Must be alert and able to distinguish all alarms, rings and sounds for all equipment in area; Must have adequate hearing, vocal enuciation, articulation skills and hand/eye coordination; Ability to function with critical tasks requiring a great deal of concentration and high levels of stress; Beeps physicians and other medical staff; Conducts overhead pages for reasons critical to patient care; Maintains and updates on-call schedules on a daily basis. Demonstrates commitment to the hospitals philosophy, goals and objectives.
