Overview

Manages the operation and administration of security for UofL Health University Hospital campus.  Develops and implements appropriate security and facility policies and procedures. Directs subordinate supervisors as well as other subordinate staff. 

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements appropriate security and facility policies and procedures.
  • Directs subordinate supervisors as well as other subordinate staff.
  • Directs and personally monitors security functions and activities to maintain the UL Health Security program.
  • Identifies training needs and provides guidance and training to UL Health staff.
  • Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges staff.
  • Manages the security operations and activities of UL Health outlying facilities as directed by the UofL Health Downtown Regional Security Manager.
  • Monitors, inspects, and evaluates operations, programs, services, activities, and conditions.
  • Oversees and/or conducts inspections, searches, investigations, and evaluations.
  • Performs crisis response, containment, and intervention in emergencies.
  • Plans, implements, directs, and coordinates various programs and activities.
  • Assists in the training of security supervisors, security officers, shift leaders, and other designated employees; and review of post orders ensuring that officers have competent knowledge of assignments.
  • Communicate with operations manager as needed regarding security system integrity and security officer performance. Communicate daily and weekly regarding security and safety issues/changes that need to be implemented, after consultation with security department leadership.
  • Assists in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated.
  • Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with staff to outline tasks and responsibilities. Ensure that staff sign in and out for their scheduled shifts accurately for every shift.
  • Meets with facility representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.

Carry out other duties as assigned by the System Director of Security or the Downtown Regional Security Manager.

 

Other Functions: 

  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher preferred but not required
  • 5 + Years of Security OR Law Enforcement Experience
  • 5 + Years of Supervising Security OR Law Enforcement professionals desired

Licensure:

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. UofL Health will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. · Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
