Job Summary

Coordinate and provide for the efficient and timely flow of all material purchases including order placement per established schedules, price verification on all orders, adherence to inventory level objectives if ordering stock, communicates with department leadership if items are on back order so end users can be notified

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in providing the highest quality patient care, by providing supplies to your assigned area of the hospital.
  2. Coordinates and manages all activities during the purchasing process.
  3. Ensures all orders placed are compliant.
  4. Works closely with department leadership to ensure needed supplies are available.
  5. Processes all requests for inventory and non-inventory supplies per established guidelines and order schedule.
  6. Works in collaboration with staff within the hospital.
  7. Maintains vendor/product information files.
  8. Receive stock and put away in stock room, maintain a clean organized work area.
  9. Reviews par levels quarterly to ensure quantity of supplies is adequate.
  10. Maintain access key card, for outside vendors when needed.
  11. Researches problems with back orders and substitute items when manufacturers and/or distributors are out of product.
  12. Coordinates returns to vendors.
  13. Handles hospital procedures for recalled products.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):

 

High School Diploma or GED required

 

Experience (required and preferred):

 

  • Two years of progressive experience and responsibilities in healthcare purchasing preferred.
  • Experience with new product introduction and evaluation preferred. 

Experience with equipment maintenance preferred
