We are Hiring for UofL Hospital's Nursing Float Pool - Mixed Acuity - PCU

Location: 530 South Jackson Street, Louisville, KY 40202

Shift Options: 7p-7a, Full-Time

The Float Pool provides support to all of our inpatient units including intermediate, cardiac, surgical, and a variety of other service lines. Float pool staffing provides a crucial service for our customers, not only to ensure safe quality patient care, but provides support for our unit colleagues as well. You will be offered opportunities to expand your knowledge and maintain an expansive skill set with a variety of patients throughout the facility that will enable you to become a resource to others.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The LPN is responsible for providing patient care utilizing the nursing process. The LPN collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team and ancillary staff to provide effective, safe, quality care.  The LPN is a key member of a team which promotes patients’ recovery and functional improvement.

 

Area of focus

  • Floating each shift to Complex Medical/Trauma units within the hospital

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active Kentucky practical nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
  • Practical degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of LPN experience in acute care or rehab
