Job Summary
The Supervisor of Supply Chain Operations & Logistics is primarily responsible to provide supervision, leadership, oversight and coordination of all Supply Distribution functions for the assigned UofL Health facility that could include physician practices, ambulatory care centers and continuing care hospitals. This position will supervise all logistics functions including appropriate inventory levels, supply expense, distribution, shipping, receiving, stocking of all medical supplies to assigned areas and provide stewardship in standardization and contract compliance. Integrates the department’s services with the hospital primary functions, develops/implements policies and procedures that guide or support services, assesses and improves department performances, and continuing education of department staff. Coordinates activities between department/programs to increase efficiency and provide higher levels of service. This posiions oversees the Supply Chain Technician I and Supply Chan Technician II positions.
• Provides effective leadership to the Supply Chain Department through the direct management of supply chain employees and daily operations.
• Manages inventory levels to assure that supplies are readily available for patient care
• Recommends structures, processes and procedures that are consistent for the distribution of supplies and services.
• Works collaboratively with staff as necessary to coordinate contract implementation and product conversions.
• Adheres to departmental staffing and expense budgets.
• Participates on best practice teams and other teams to establish effective change.
• Supervises individual(s) including but not limited to recommendations, trains, schedules & evaluates performance.
• Daily supervision and scheduling of direct reports
• Ensures that the Logistics team provides a high level of customer service in support of procurement needs to all customers across the organization.
• Ensures that the productivity and actions of the group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department and aligned with UofLHealth Supply Chain goals.
o Oversees and monitors reports/metrics.
• Works directly with contracting team, value analysis, project leads, senior leaders, department leads, procurement support coordinators and data analyst to ensure projects are supported and implemented.
• Assures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations and JCAHO standards relative to the acquisition, storage, handling, and distribution of supply chain goods.
• Maintains focus on all key stakeholders and supports the unit/team ability to deliver on all valid stakeholder expectations.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Experience (required and preferred):
• Minimum of Two (2) years Supply Chain related experience
• Team Management and/or Project Management preferred.
• Must keep abreast of current trends/changes related to technology within healthcare.
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):
• High school or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
