Job Summary
This position administers the daily operations of a specific service shop and provides repair, incoming inspection, calibration and maintenance services to medical treatment and diagnostic equipment.
1. In conjunction with the Biomed Director, interacts daily with hospital department managers, equipment users, physicians and administrative staff concerning service and usage issues Provides equipment repair throughout responsible area.
2. Communicates daily with Biomed Director and effectively handles all service emergencies.
3. Assists in the ordering of parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of equipment.
4. Maintains life support equipment.
5. Provides technical support and assistance to BMET I & BMET II technicians.
6. Participation in the identification of value added enhancements.
7. Promotes the safe effective use of clinical equipment.
8. Maintains effective professional customer relations and communication.
9. Performs cross training to other technicians on acquired skills.
10. Provides input to the Director regarding new service opportunities and performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Training: Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
Experience: Five or more years of experience as BMET II
Must keep up-to-date on technological and medical advances. Must maintain up-to-date understanding of The Joint Commission, NFPA and other regulatory agencies/standards. Must have the ability to support and maintain a wide variety of equipment.
License & Certification: BMET certification preferred.
