JOB SUMMARY
Medical assisting duties include patient triage, vital signs, patient history, injections, and using
the electronic health record.
· Maintains ultrasound appointment workqueue.
· Answers phones, makes appointments, and sends out patient records.
· Transcribes orders from referring physicians.
· Preps ultrasound charts for upcoming visits.
· Requests missing patient records.
· Works OB/GYN patient care spreadsheets.
· Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with outside referral sites.
· Obtain medical history, triage patients, record vitals.
· Reconcile medication list in EHR
· Responds timely and appropriately to tasks.
· Gives injections per physician order (i.e. Hepatitis A&B, PPD and flu vaccine)
· Reports any abnormal results to physician immediately (i.e. labs, etc.)
· Maintains clean exam rooms.
· Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain patient confidentiality
at all times.
· Adheres to organizational policy and procedure. · Other duties as assigned.
Education:
· High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
Experience:
· Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and or
documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office (preferred).
· Vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience (preferred).
Certification:
· Must complete CMA or RMA certification within 180 days of employment (required).
· BLS through American Heart Association (required).
