Responsibilities

Job Summary

The therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in the Assistive Technology Resource Center & Specialty Wheelchair Seating Clinic. The therapist is part of a transdisciplinary team that collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to provide comprehensive services throughout the care continuum. The Assistive Technology Resource Center & Specialty Wheelchair Seating Clinic provides services to inpatient and outpatient individuals with neurological, developmental, and non-neurological conditions.

 

In this role you will perform specialty evaluations, develop and implement an appropriate treatment plan, provide recommendations for complex rehab technology equipment, deliver treatment services, and engage in comprehensive discharge planning. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed or eligible in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or University
  • Minimum 1 year experience with assistive technology/adaptive equipment and DME recommendations
  • Knowledgeable in wheelchair provision and skills training

 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Rehab Engineering Society of North America (RESNA) Certified Assistive Technology Professional
  • Knowledge of industry trends and evidence-based practice specific to specialty wheelchair seating, mobility, and assistive technology.
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy
