Shift Options:

7p-7a at all facilities

7a-7p Available only at Frazier Rehab or Jewish Hospital

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Float Pool provides support to all our inpatient units including intermediate, cardiac, surgical, and a variety of other service lines. Float pool staffing provides a crucial service for our customers, not only to ensure safe quality patient care, but provides support for our unit colleagues as well. You will be offered opportunities to expand your knowledge and maintain an expansive skill set with a variety of patients throughout the facility that will enable you to become a resource to others.

  • RN Float Mixed Acuity: Floating each shift to Complex Medical/Trauma units within the hospital. Base pay rate is $55/hour for RN Float Mixed Acuity. Shift differential is $4.25/hour when working 4 or more hours from 3pm-7am.
  • RN Float Critical Care: Floating each shift to Intensive Care units & Complex Medical/Trauma units within the hospital. Base pay rate is $57/hour for RN Float Critical Care. Shift differential is $4.25/hour when working 4 or more hours from 3pm-7am.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Kentucky RN license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky.
  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum of two (2) years of RN acute inpatient experience in: Mixed Acuity/PCU areas for RN Float Mixed Acuity & ICU areas for RN Float Critical Care
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) for RN Float Critical Care only.
  • Required for UofL Hospital new hires only: All new-hire Associate degree RNs are required to start an approved BSN program within one (1) year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three (3) years of hire
