The center also includes a Pancreas Disease Center, a GI Motility Clinic, and Advanced Heart Failure and VAD programs.

 

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

The RN in the TEE lab is a competent RN in this institution and will deliver nursing care to patients of varying age groups by utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards. The RN uses Nursing Practice Competencies to intervene to achieve safe, optimal patient and family centered care health outcomes; Leadership Competencies to coordinate patient care and communicate with the Care Team; Professional Profile Competencies to develop professionally as a life-long learner, and Practice Outcomes Competencies to evaluate care based on evidence, the ULH quality model, and patient safety goals.

 

The TEE Nurse demonstrates competency caring for complex patients and works alongside the Cardiologist to deliver quality of care in the TEE lab.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 
  • Associates’s degree from accredited college or University
  • A minimum of two years of patient care experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or University
  • Cardiology Experience
  • National Clinical Nurse Specialty Certification (e.g. CCNS, ACCNS-AG, ACNS-BC, etc.)
