A professional who provide services (evaluation, interventions, and planning) to patients/clients who have impairments in speech or language (aphasia, dysarthria, laryngectomy, fluency, TBI, burn, voice disturbance, tracheostomy), hearing and or oral motor disorders (dysphagia, apraxia). Consideration of function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes will occur. He/she interacts and practices in collaboration with a variety of professionals, including physicians, nurses, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. The speech pathologist will also provide appropriate education to patients and or family. The pathologist supports and contributes to the departmental and hospital mission or objectives.
