The Vascular Technologists scrubs in and assists the physician in the vascular/interventional procedure. The Vascular Technologist circulates within the procedure room and procures all equipment needed for procedures. The Vascular Technologist maintains a high degree of accuracy and awareness of all radiation and patient safety issues involved with any invasive procedure. The Vascular Technologist will position patients, select exposure parameters, contrast injectors according to protocols specific to both patient and examination. The Vascular Technologist demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, interventional supplies, and equipment.
Education & Training: Graduate of a JRC approved program in Radiologic Technology
Experience: Two years of recent experience as a general radiographer preferred
License & Certification: Registered with ARRT required, KY Radiation Operator's certification required, BLS required, IR Registry required within two years of employment.
