  • Overview

    The Revenue Cycle Analyst assures accuracy of charge input into the system through daily analysis of various assigned charge processes and reports in order to monitor/prevent lost revenue.  Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with facilities personnel, information system staff, revenue integrity staff, management and preferred vendors.  Provide feedback to departments, finance, and UMC leaders regarding charge issues.

    Responsibilities

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor daily charges/revenue reports for unusual quantities or dollar amounts and follow up with departments to remediate issues
    • Monitor Midnight Census process and make corrections as needed
    • Monitor Pyxis Temporary Patient reports and provide training, as needed to ensure clinical areas are reconciling temporary patients timely
    • Monitor Pyxis Charge/Credit reports for unusual trends and follow up with departments on any unusual items identified
    • Monitor Supply Chain (SCT) HL7 errors and enter manual charges as needed
    • Monitor claim hold/application interface queues for charge entry issues and work with other departments for resolution to prevent future claim holds and allow for timely billing
    • Assist departments with action plans related to charge capture and late charge remediation
    • Provide support/training to clinical teams on charge reconciliation
    • Other analysis and follow up as needed

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • One year of work experience in a health care or managed care environment with an emphasis on coding, auditing, or claims related system configuration, preferred

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

    • Computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
    • Strong organization and follow up skills with proactive prioritization
    • Ability to work well with ambiguity and continuous changes
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
