The SPD Tech will display resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism while adhering to the standards and procedures associated with the preparation, sterilization, storage, and delivery of surgical instrumentation per Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Associates of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN), and CDC guidelines.

(i.e. - interventional invasive cardiology procedures, electrophysiology, etc.) - Discuss patient instructions for procedures with patient so patient has clear understanding of what is expected. - Calls patients to schedule procedures and give instructions over phone with follow-up letter with instructions. - Use Allscripts, Centricity Business, online paging systems. Retrieve information from other hospital systems. - Holds in confidence all matters concerning patients according to HIPAA guidelines. - Exhibits friendly and helpful behavior. - Other duties as assigned.
