Job Summary
Coordinator and Interpreter of Language Services duties and responsibilities include providing support to ensure efficient operation of the department on campus at UofL Health. Will support the manager and staff interpreters through organization and communication with the team with daily inpatient interpreter needs as well as scheduling requests for UofL Health system wide.
This position will provide interpreter services as needed for patients, families, staff, visitors, physicians, and others regarding consents, medical treatments, discharges, instructions, and other concerns as needed. The interpreter in this position will accurately and completely convey information between patient and provider; manage the flow of communication; facilitate rapport between the provider and patient; recognize and address clarifications both cultural and in language to ensure accurate and complete understanding. These duties enable patients and families to effectively communicate which allows UofL Health to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Other duties include assisting the manager in problem-solving with patient and family communication needs and proactively identifying opportunities for improving services to our limited English proficient (LEP)/Deaf/ HOH patient and family population.

The Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) is located in the lower level of the UofL Healthcare Outpatient Center (HCOC). The OSC is comprised of four Operating Rooms, two Endoscopy Rooms, one minor procedure room and eighteen bays used for Preop, Pre-Procedure, PACU (Phase I and Phase II), Post Procedure and Discharge. The center provides services to outpatients as well as patients requiring a post operative admission or observation requiring a hospital bed as the center is connected by pedway to the ACB which is connected by pedway to the hospital. The OSC also provides three bays with six chairs dedicated to Infusion services. The center schedules patients for procedures Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 3:00 pm but remains open until all patients meet discharge criteria, discharged home or transported to an inpatient bed.

Job Summary
The primary purpose of Sterile Processing is to assist in direct patient care by ensuring the OR staff has correct, fully functional, sterile instrumentation delivered in a timely manner consistent with the highest standards of customer service. Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Techs are asked to perform the four basic departmental functions (decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch) with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy. The SPD Tech will display resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism while adhering to the standards and procedures associated with the preparation, sterilization, storage, and delivery of surgical instrumentation per Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Associates of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN), and CDC guidelines.
Under the direction of the health care provider, Medical Assistant II is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and wellbeing of all patients. Accurately preforms preliminary physical tests such as: measures blood pressure, records weight, temperature, pulse and respirations and other measures as directed by established clinical protocols.

Job Summary
The Patient Access Registrar presents a pleasing, helpful, and courteous manner to patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, and all other internal and external customers of the hospital. The registrar interviews patients in a professional manner and obtains all personal, medical, and financial information necessary for admissions and billing properly for services rendered. Obtains accurate insurance information and signatures when applicable and explains payment options available and refer to Patient Financial Counselor if necessary. The registrar adheres to established policies and procedures for the department and the hospital when providing service to adults (ages 18-65), geriatric patients (age over 65), adolescents (ages 12-17) and pediatric/neonate patients (age under 12).
Works under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager. Independently acts as a liaison with patients/caregivers, physicians and other medical staff in identifying, facilitating, and ordering prescription medications via medication access programs for eligible patients who are underinsured. Also identifies opportunities from co-pay assistance foundations where available. Creates, manages and performs financial/billing/clinical audits to maintain the integrity of the programs and creates and distributes reports to pharmacy and hospital management concerning operations.
Is responsible for verifying accurate insurance and demographic information, obtaining or verifying prior authorization, referrals and communicating need for medical necessity for out-patient medication infusions.
Coordinates patient encounter utilizing multiple system applications, clinical operating systems, and communicating with appropriate team members to perform duties in a timely manner
