JOB SUMMARY The Front Office Lead is responsible for overseeing the duties of the front office, including receiving physician orders, managing the Epic work queue, coordinating with the Patient Access team for pre-registration and financial clearance, scanning/filing/releasing medical records, appointment scheduling, and ensuring billing alignment between ITW/Cerner/Epic.  The lead will ensure that responsibilities are carried out with accuracy and timeliness. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Supervision of front office staff that is responsible for check in and check out of patients, scheduling of patient appointments, specialty referrals, hospital tests and orders.    - Supervise call center staff that will be handling calls requesting appointments with many physicians. Assure staff is trained to answer appropriately, and following all scheduling protocol.  - Approve time off requests prior to staff submitting to Medical Office Manager on ADP time keeping.   - Will enter physician schedules into Centricity and create templates. - Manage rotation schedules for check in, check out and call center staff. - Hold meetings monthly or as needed with staff. - Adheres to HIPAA guidelines and ensures the same from the front office and call center staff. Reads, acknowledges and follows updates to policies and procedures. - Other duties as assigned. The Laboratory Technical Manager & Development Scientist will report and have oversight from the Director of Laboratory Services. NGS Clinical Lab Technical Manager and Development Scientist is responsible for the administrative and technical operations of clinical test development and performance of next generation sequencing in UofL Health’s high-complexity molecular laboratory   Responsibilities - Serve as technical expert with primary oversight of instrument performance and assay optimization and validation. - Leverages deep understanding of NGS and other molecular techniques to appropriately design robust assays for detection of genetic and oncology targets. - Keeps detailed records for all experiments/procedures and authors standards operation protocols, ensuring compliance with technical and quality accreditation requirements (CAP, CLIA). - Educates and trains staff on advanced molecular techniques. - Performs patient testing on an as needed basis to assist in workload management, to maintain skills, and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. - Oversee preparation of samples for NGS and other molecular testing and, which will include but not limited to DNA/RNA isolation of various sample types, DNA QC, PCR, library preparation library quantification and sequencing on the various sequencing / automation platforms. - Supervise personnel to perform day-to-day laboratory operations under regulatory requirements to ensure timely result delivery. - Maintain efficient lab operations and optimize lab throughput. - Introduces new/updated software and protocols for higher level molecular assays and for more efficient workflow. - Troubleshoots complex instrument and assay problems. - Resolve technical problems and ensure remedial actions are taken, and documented, whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications. - Responsible for maintaining laboratory records, reports, and files. - Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies and reagents. - Maintenance of lab, service, repair, calibration and proper documentation of laboratory equipment. - Assist the Clinical Laboratory Medical Director in assay validation and documentation. - Interpret sequencing quality data, and results. - Adhere to quality management systems and laboratory policies and procedures. - Ensure that regulatory compliance, data integrity, quality control, proficiency testing, and client standards are met. - Provide support for analytical testing, method validations, note booking, data entry, instrument and method troubleshooting. - Work with Quality to ensure personnel training and competency assessments. - Acts in a professional manner in all interchanges with customers. - Listens and responds to customer needs in a timely fashion. - Works effectively with all co-workers, lab and enterprise. - Reads and responds to all electronic, written, and verbal communication in timely manner. - Successfully completes competency assessments, performs safety and technical continuing education, reviews procedures when changes are implemented within established deadlines. - Performs all duties safely as outlined in the Laboratory Safety policies and procedures, including appropriate hand hygiene and appropriate use of personal protective equipment. - Adheres to UofL Health employment policies and procedures.   Required Qualifications - PhD degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other related field - 3-5 years of experience in a clinical molecular genetics laboratory performing high volumes of molecular genetic testing Preferred Qualifications - Advanced degree in Molecular Genetics - Board-eligible or certified for American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics certification (preferred). The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling and preparing documentation for all surgeries to be performed by our practice's physicians. This position requires the candidate to contact patients to review medical history, obtain a current medication list and identify any possible preoperative issues. The Scheduler will schedule patients with the appropriate physician based on procedure, priority and availability.  Once surgery is scheduled, the Surgery Scheduler will send out informational packets and preoperative instructions to all patients and answer any questions the patient may have regarding their procedure.  This position will also support the check-in/check-out position on a rotational basis.
